About Titanium

About the Opal Inlay

The opal inlay in the CASSIOPEIA flashes color, a phenomenon called play-of-color, caused by microscopic silica spheres diffracting light through the stone. Each opal slice has its own color signature: some flash blue and green, others red and orange, others a full spectrum. No two are alike because the silica structure varies in every piece.

Opals have been valued in jewelry for over 6,000 years. The CASSIOPEIA uses stabilized opal, which is natural opal with a hardener treatment that prevents the cracking and crazing that uncared-for opals can develop. The fire and color are 100% natural; only the durability is enhanced.

Sizing & Fit

The CASSIOPEIA is comfort fit, meaning the inside of the band is rounded rather than flat, which makes it easier to slide over the knuckle and more comfortable for all-day wear. Comfort-fit rings typically size a half-size smaller than standard-fit rings, so if you normally wear a size 10 standard-fit, you'll likely wear a 9.5 in the CASSIOPEIA.
