About the Lava Rock Inlay
Lava rock (geologically called basalt) is real volcanic stone formed when molten lava cools. The lava rock inlay in the HYPERION is genuine volcanic basalt, hand-cut and inlaid into the band. Because it's a natural stone with a porous texture, every ring is one-of-a-kind: the grain pattern, color variation, and surface character of your inlay won't match any other piece.
The dark gray and black coloration comes from the iron and magnesium content in the original lava. Lava rock is symbolic, a piece of the earth's interior solidified and worn on the finger, but it's also surprisingly practical: it doesn't fade, doesn't oxidize, and pairs well with the matte and polished finishes used on Aydins ceramic and tungsten bands.
