The Metal

Tungsten carbide is the hardest wedding-band metal made - roughly 4× harder than titanium and 10× harder than 18k gold. That's not marketing language; it's a measurable Mohs hardness of 8.5-9. In practical terms: this band will not scratch from keys, tools, gym equipment, or daily contact with desks, steering wheels, or phone cases. It will look the same in five years as it looks the day you open the box.

Both tones on the CENTAUR are PVD (physical vapor deposition) finishes bonded to the tungsten core at the molecular level - the gold and the black interior are molecularly integrated, not painted or plated. Neither can peel, strip, or wear through. The metal is fully hypoallergenic and nickel-free. The stepped beveled profile raises the polished gold shoulders above the hammered center in crisp plateaus; the black interior sleeve sits flush on the inside of the band.

The CENTAUR does a full material inversion from outside to inside. The exterior is warm gold done three ways: hand-hammered yellow-gold-tone across the center, a polished gold center groove running the full circumference, and polished yellow-gold-tone stepped beveled edges framing the composition. Turn the ring inward and the inside reveals a completely black tungsten interior sleeve - a pure dark surface lining the finger side of the band.

That contrast - warm forged gold outside, pure black inside - gives the ring a double-identity character. From the outside the CENTAUR reads as a textured rich gold wedding band; from the inside (when taking it off, or glimpsed as the finger turns) it reads as a blacked-out band. It's a wedding band with a secret second material, and two completely different visual stories depending on which side you're looking at.
